This book is a true story. It represents a path of hope for anyone facing a serious illness, as well as the caregivers, physicians, and individuals who want to take a preventative approach to illness. It also represents a path to a greater understanding of each of us as whole beings.

David Atkinson, on the verge of a long-planned family move to Florida, began to have serious physical problems. The initial diagnosis was amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, for which there is no cure. But David became determined to fight against a prognosis of no hope and the prospect of becoming a statistic. Working with traditional doctors and exploring alternative treatments he found a way to slow and reverse most of the serious symptoms of his motor neuron disease that interfered with his living a reasonably normal life.
