Sulflax® was prescribed by Edgar Cayce as a gentle bowel regulator for occasional irregularity. This formula, recommended in about forty readings, contains sulfur (sulphur), cream of tartar, and Rochelle salts. According to the readings, the mixture acts as a mild laxative and blood purifier, or as Cayce explained: "This would be taken as a cleanser for the whole system"(Cayce). It was also mentioned in cases of eczema, acne, psoriasis, ear infection, ringing in ear(s) and dermatitis.

Edgar Cayce sometimes recommended laxatives to improve eliminations through the colon, particularly in cases involving constipation. Various other therapies were usually recommended in addition to the laxatives. For example, diet (with lots of fruits and vegetables), hydrotherapy (especially colonic irrigations), and manual therapy (spinal manipulations and massage) were commonly prescribed for constipation.

Sulfur plays an important role in the production of glutathione. Glutathione, also known a GSH, can help metabolize toxins, break down free radicals, support immune function, and more. Another interesting note to the benefits of sulphur is it's protective qualities in relation to Radiation. This is indicated in an early study published in 1962 in Nature titled "Radiation Protection with Sulphur and Some Sulphur-containing Compounds".

Suggested Use:
1 level tsp. for 5-7 days in the morning before breakfast. Can be taken either dry or in warm water. Follow with a glass of water. Not to be taken for longer than 7 days.
