The side brushes are at an optimal 45 degree angle, which reduces the need to twist the arm or wrist to thoroughly clean all tooth surfaces.

The BeneFit Plus toothbrush features a compact flexible independent three-head configuration that will clean all sides of the tooth in a single, simple brushing stroke. The arms are joined at their ends to a handle, which features a comfortable thumb stop.

Although it benefits everyone, the Benefit Plus brush is ideal for physically disadvantaged people who need to reduce wrist or arm twisting. The brush-heads are designed to ensure that the correct brushing angle of 45 degrees is maintained between the bristles and the gingiva while the bristles completely surround the tooth, and automatically adjust to individual tooth contours, lengths and widths. This is in contrast to single-head manual brushes that do not ensure maintenance of the proper brushing angle. Each of the three brush-heads move independently of the other brush-heads. Thus, the side brush-heads can move apart for wider teeth and move together for narrower areas. This independent motion has not been accomplished by any other toothbrush design. The brush-heads are positioned such that the gum line bristles of the side brush-heads form the proper angle to permit the side bristles to enter and clean the sulcus, effectively remove plaque and gently massage the gingiva.

In addition, the angle of contact of the bristles of the side brush-heads remains relatively constant despite the flex of the brush to accommodate different thickness of each tooth and gingiva. Each individual brush-head is smaller than a typical manual single-head toothbrush, making it easier to reach the most distal-posterior areas of the teeth where other toothbrushes often miss because of their size. It has an effective lingual-surface cleaner that has been specifically designed to remove bacteria from the tongue without causing any damage to the epithelium of the tongue.
