pHion pH test strips are unlike most pH test strips or pH papers on the market. Due to the narrow range in pH of bodily fluids (generally 5.8 to 7.6), it is imperative that a pH test strip give a clear indication in small pH unit increments. These test strips give an indication in .25 pH unit increments and test a range of 4.5 to 9.0. Plus, pH Strips use the double color indicator method, allowing for a more accurate determination of the pH value of what you are testing. Throw away the pH paper, and pick up the pH Strip.
Color Chart and a sample pH Stick. Simply match the colors of the pH Stick to the colors on the chart. pH Strips always give clear, easy to read indications.

To maintain good health, the body is constantly seeking to get rid of the excess acids that irritate the tissues and deplete them of minerals. One of the principal systems it uses for this purpose is the renal system (kidneys). The normal rate of acid excretion through the kidneys gives urine a pH that falls between 6.75 and 7.25. By testing the degree of acidity of the urine, you can determine whether your body is eliminating a normal quantity of acids. If the acid excretion rate is higher than normal, the urinary pH will be more acidic. This low urinary pH is also an indication that the body is saturated and therefore in an acid state.

Another indicator of the overall pH balance in your body is the pH of your saliva. When your body has the mineral reserves that it should, the abundance of minerals will show up in a saliva pH test as a pH reading of 7.0 to 7.50. A low saliva pH reading indicates that the mineral reserves in your body are low and are being used to buffer acids elsewhere in the body.

There is a strong correlation between the pH of the body's internal environment and that of the urine and saliva: urine and saliva become acidic when the body's internal environment becomes acidic. You can discover the pH of these fluids by using pHion pH test strips. These pH test strips are made specifically to test saliva and urine, and are the most accurate and economical test strips on the market.

Comparison between pHion pH Test Strips with sandard pH paper from rolls. No paper, no bleeding, no mess; easy testing.Compare pHion pH Test Strips with standard pH paper from rolls. pH Paper tends to bleed when it gets wet, making the determination of the correct color quite a challenge. pHion pH Test Strips are different - the reagent is affixed to a plastic strip. No paper, no bleeding, no mess; easy testing. pHion pH test strips - the clear choice.

Suggested Use: In order to gain full insight into the pH of your body fluids, it is recommended to test both urine and saliva.

Saliva: Wait 2 hours after eating, spit into a spoon. Dip the strip. Ready in 15 seconds. Use the color chart indication. An optimal reading is 7.0 to 7.5. This indicates a slightly alkaline body. It is recommended that you test yourself a few times throughout the day to get an average reading. If you are below 6.0, track the following:
Eat a piece of bread, chewing it until it dissolves in your mouth; then test your saliva immediately, and note the pH. Wait 30 minutes and test again. Test once again 1 hour later. You want to see how quickly your saliva pH is diminishing. If you are below 6.0 you may want to seek the counsel of a health care professional.
Results: 7.0 is neutral. A reading of 6.5 is slightly acidic. A reading below 6.5 is acidic and a reading below 6.0 is very acidic.

Urine: Do not test the first urine of the morning, since this is usually more acidic than normal. Test the second urine of the day. Fill a small cup with urine and dip a strip into the cup. Read in 15 second. Test again throughout the day.
Results: 7.0 is neutral. A reading of 6.5 is slightly acidic. A reading below 6.5 is acidic and a reading below 6.0 is very acidic.
